Overview

The name Pikey is derived from the local Sherpa Clan deity which represents the sky over nature Pikey Peak Trek is a newly introduced trekking route in Khumbu region which allows us to enjoy up-close view of Everest and lower Khumbu region along with magical landscapes. The view of sunrise and sunset over the giant peaks is so magical that it will become your lifetime memory. Apart from majestic Himalayan views, you will get the opportunity to discover unique geography and the life it supports. The unique Sherpa Culture and their hospitality is very intriguing. Itinerary

Day 1

Our trip strats with a departure from Kathmandu for Dhap in our private vehicle. The black-topped road follows the Sunkoshi River and joins the Tama Koshi River forming the huge Koshi River until we reach a place called Ghurmi. We eat our lunch there and continue our journey through the deep rhododendron forest. We pass by many settlement areas before arriving in Dhap where we will take a short break. From here, we further continue to Dhap.

Day 2

The view is stunning at dusk from Dhap. But, the dawn view is much more mesmerising. We will rise before dawn to witness the first rays of the sun changing the White Mountains into golden. We will have our breakfast admiring the landscapes and scenery, and start the trekking journey from here. We walk along the bumpy roads till we reach our destination Jhapre. Jhapre is positioned atop a deep valley with spectacular views of Everest and the Numbur Himal. Later after a brief rest, you can explore the surroundings and visit the lovely Gompa (stupa) there.

Day 3

We walk along the bumpy roads till we reach our destination Jhapre. Jhapre is positioned atop a deep valley with spectacular views of Everest and the Numbur Himal. Later after a brief rest, you can explore the surroundings and visit the lovely Gompa (stupa) there.We pass a lengthy Mani wall and some abandoned antique yak herder’s cottages. The trail then curves the hillside beneath Taklung Danda, passing through a lovely woodland track lined with rhododendrons. After 2 hours of trekking from the forest, we reached the Pikey Peak Base Camp.

Day 4

It is best to trek to the summit early in the morning to catch the sunrise. So, we start before dawn along the steep rocky ridgeline. It is a short distance from the base camp to the summit. Once we reach the focal destination of this Pikey Peak Trek, i.e., the Pikey Peak at 4065 metres, we are offered the wonderful views of Mt. Everest (8848.86m), Number Chuli (6959m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), Khatang (6853m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Manaslu (8163m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and Langtang (7246m). We spend some quality time at the peak admiring the landscape, mountains, sunrise, and surroundings and start descending back to Jhapre on the same route.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast,  we will start our trek to Dhap, the same route we came from. After 3-4 hours of walking, we will reach Dhap .After breakfast  we will be driving same way back to kathmandu with lots  of memories of  trek
