Itinerary

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our team from We Gaze Nepal. After a long flight, we understand the importance of a smooth transition, so we will ensure that your transfer to your eco-friendly boutique hotel in Kathmandu is seamless. As you settle into your accommodations, take some time to relax and unwind after your journey. In the evening, we invite you to enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring sustainable Nepali cuisine. It's a perfect opportunity to get acquainted with your fellow travellers and our team.

Day 2

Today, we embark on a memorable journey to the Himalayan highlands. After breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Surkhet. The journey takes us through picturesque landscapes, offering stunning views of the Trishuli and Karnali rivers along the way. We'll cover a distance of approximately 550 kilometres, and the journey will take around 14 hours. En route, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant that actively supports sustainable tourism initiatives. Upon reaching Surkhet, often referred to as the gateway to the Far West region of Nepal, we'll check into our eco-friendly hotel. Surkhet offers a vibrant mix of culture and commerce, and we'll take some time to explore its local markets and interact with the friendly locals.

Day 3

Today, our journey takes us deeper into the Himalayan highlands as we make our way from Surkhet to Jumla. After an early breakfast, we'll embark on a breathtaking drive through some of Nepal's most stunning landscapes. The journey covers a distance of approximately 150 kilometres and takes around 6-7 hours. En route, we'll pass through picturesque villages and terraced fields of maize, barley, and wheat. We'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you'll have the opportunity to savour delicious Nepali cuisine while supporting local businesses. Upon arrival in Jumla, nestled at an altitude of 2370 metres, we'll check into our cosy eco-lodge. Jumla is known for its natural beauty and warm hospitality, and we'll spend the evening exploring the town and its surroundings.

Day 4

Today, we embark on an exciting adventure to Rara Lake, often referred to as the hidden gem of the Himalayas. After breakfast, we'll set out on a scenic road trip from Jumla to Rara Lake. The journey covers a distance of approximately 70 kilometres and takes around 3-4 hours. En route, we'll pass through dense forests, charming villages, and stunning landscapes. We'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy the flavours of traditional Nepali cuisine. As we approach Rara Lake, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and lush greenery. Upon arrival at Rara Lake, situated at an altitude of 2990 metres, we'll check into our eco-friendly lodge. Rara Lake is the largest and deepest lake in Nepal, and its pristine beauty is sure to leave you spellbound.

Day 5

Today is dedicated to exploring the tranquil beauty of Rara Lake and its surroundings. After breakfast, we'll set out to explore the area on foot. You'll have the opportunity to take leisurely walks around the lake, soaking in the breathtaking Himalayan vistas. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch by the shores of the lake, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. For the more adventurous, optional activities such as boating on the lake or bird watching are available. Throughout the day, you'll have ample opportunities to capture stunning photographs of the lake and its surroundings. In the evening, we'll gather for a delicious dinner at the eco-friendly lodge. Don't forget to step outside and marvel at the starry night sky before retiring to your comfortable accommodations for the night.

After breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to the enchanting beauty of Rara Lake as we begin our journey back to Jumla. The return journey covers a distance of approximately 70 kilometres and takes around 3-4 hours. En route, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal while reminiscing about your time at Rara Lake. As we drive back to Jumla, take the time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences and memories you've made during your time in the Himalayan highlands. Upon arrival in Jumla, we'll check back into our cosy eco-lodge and spend the evening relaxing

Day 7

Today, we embark on an exciting journey to Bardiya National Park, one of Nepal's premier wildlife destinations. After breakfast, we'll set out on a scenic drive from Jumla to Bardiya National Park. The journey covers a distance of approximately 300 kilometres and takes around 8-9 hours. En route, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal while supporting sustainable tourism initiatives. As we drive to Bardiya National Park, you'll be treated to stunning views of lush forests, terraced fields, and riverside landscapes. Upon arrival at Bardiya National Park, we'll check into our eco-friendly lodge. Bardiya National Park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinoceros, and exotic bird species.

Day 8

Today is dedicated to exploring the rich biodiversity of Bardiya National Park and engaging in conservation activities. After breakfast, we'll set out on a thrilling wildlife safari to spot some of the park's most iconic residents. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinoceros, and a variety of bird species. We'll also visit a local Tharu village to learn about indigenous culture and sustainable living practices. Lunch will be served at the eco-lodge, featuring locally sourced organic ingredients. In the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to engage in conservation activities such as tree planting and wildlife monitoring. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural dance performance, followed by a delicious dinner at the eco-friendly lodge.

Day 9

After breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to the Himalayan highlands as we begin our journey back to Kathmandu. The return journey covers a distance of approximately 570 kilometres and takes around 14-15 hours. En route, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, and take a drive to Lumbini for overnight stay before reaching Kathmandu as the distance is very lengthy.

Day 10

Today you will drive almost around 8-9 hours from Lumbini back to Kathmandu. On the way we will stop by for our lunch and start driving towards Kathmandu through hills and forests.Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we'll transfer you to your hotel. Since its a last day in Kathmandu of your trip, you can stroll around Thamel touristic area in the evening to buy goods and souvenirs for your loved ones.

Day 11

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight. As you board your flight, take one last look at the majestic Himalayas, knowing that you're leaving with unforgettable memories of your highland adventure with We Gaze Nepal.
