Itinerary

Day 1

Begin your adventure with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar, a picturesque town in eastern Nepal. From Tumlingtar, we will take  a drive to Num, which will take approximately 5-6 hours. Enjoy the scenic drive through lush landscapes and small villages, and upon reaching Num, settle into your accommodation and prepare for the trek ahead.

Day 2

Your trek starts today as you leave Num and head towards Seduwa. The trail takes you through verdant forests and across serene rivers, offering beautiful natural scenery. This trek, lasting about 6-7 hours, involves a descent to Seduwa, a charming village where you'll spend the night. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and get a good rest for the journey ahead.

Day 3

From Seduwa, you'll trek to Tashigaon, a village situated at a higher altitude. This trek, which takes approximately 5-6 hours, involves a gradual ascent through forested paths and traditional villages. Tashigaon offers a glimpse into local life and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. After arriving and settling in, enjoy a peaceful evening in this quaint village.

Day 4

Today's trek takes you from Tashigaon to Khongma Danda, a significant altitude gain over 6-7 hours. The trail climbs steadily, leading you through diverse landscapes, including dense forests and alpine meadows. Reaching Khongma Danda, you'll be greeted with panoramic views and a chance to rest and acclimatize to the higher elevation.

Day 5

Spend the day in Khongma Danda to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. Acclimatization is crucial for preventing altitude sickness and ensuring a successful trek. You can take short walks around the area to aid your acclimatization, enjoy the breathtaking views, and relax. This day is essential for maintaining your health and comfort for the trek ahead.

Day 6

Today’s trek will take you from Khongma Danda to Dobate, descending through beautiful landscapes over approximately 5-6 hours. As you make your way down, you’ll pass through varied terrains and experience the shifting flora and fauna. Dobate is a picturesque stop where you’ll spend the night, preparing for the next leg of your journey.

Day 7

Your trek from Dobate to Yangri Kharka involves a steady ascent over 6-7 hours. This part of the journey brings you to a higher altitude, and the path offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Yangri Kharka is a beautiful spot to rest and acclimate as you prepare for the final approach to Makalu Base Camp.

Day 8

Today’s trek takes you from Yangri Kharka to Langmale Kharka, a challenging 6-7 hour journey with significant altitude gain. The trail ascends through rugged terrain and alpine meadows, offering spectacular views along the way. Upon reaching Langmale Kharka, you'll be treated to incredible vistas and a well-deserved rest.

Day 9

The trek from Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp is a highlight of your journey. This 5-6 hour trek takes you to the base camp, situated at an altitude of 4870 meters. The trail provides awe-inspiring views of the Makalu massif and surrounding peaks. Once at base camp, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning surroundings and relax.

Day 10

Spend a full day at Makalu Base Camp to soak in the majestic views and explore the area. You can take short hikes or simply enjoy the breathtaking scenery. This day is also crucial for acclimatization and allows you to appreciate the grandeur of the Himalayas while resting and preparing for your journey back.

Day 11

Begin your descent from Makalu Base Camp back to Yangri Kharka. This trek, taking about 6-7 hours, retraces part of your previous route, allowing you to appreciate the changing landscapes from a different perspective. Arrive in Yangri Kharka and rest for the night.

Day 12

Your trek today takes you from Yangri Kharka to Dobate. The journey, lasting approximately 5-6 hours, involves descending through beautiful scenery. Arrive back in Dobate, where you can reflect on your adventure and enjoy a peaceful evening.

Day 13

Today’s trek will take you from Dobate to Danda Kharka, covering a distance of about 5 hours. The trail offers more picturesque views as you descend gradually. Danda Kharka is a serene location to rest and prepare for the final stages of your trek.

Day 14

Continue your descent from Danda Kharka to Seduwa, which will take around 6-7 hours. The trek involves descending through forests and villages, providing a contrast to the higher-altitude landscapes you’ve experienced. Arrive in Seduwa, where you’ll spend your final night on the trek.

Day 15

Today, you'll trek from Seduwa back to Num, followed by a drive to Tumlingtar. The trek takes about 3-4 hours, and the drive from Num to Tumlingtar will take approximately 5-6 hours as well. Arrive in Tumlingtar, where you can rest and celebrate the completion of your trek.


Overnight: Comfort Lodge

Day 16

Catch a flight from Tumlingtar back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy some leisure time in Kathmandu, perhaps shopping for souvenirs or visiting additional sights if time permits.
