Day 5

  • Trek from Lelep to Amjilosa.
  • Walking duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
  • Distance: About 15 kilometres.
  • Climb through dense forests of bamboo and rhododendron.
  • Passed by small settlements inhabited by Tibetan refugees.
  • Enjoy views of the towering peaks of Kanchenjunga and its satellite peaks.
  • Huge Chances of Spotting rare Himalayan wildlife like the red panda and Himalayan black bear.

Day 6

  • Continue trekking to Gyabla.

  • Marvel at the rugged beauty of the landscape.

  • Spot yaks grazing in high-altitude pastures.

  • Distance: About 10 kilometres.
  • Trek alongside the Kanchenjunga Glacier.
  • Cross rocky terrain and moraines.
  • Enjoy breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga and its neighbouring peaks.
  • Arrive in Lhonak, a remote settlement with basic teahouses.
  • Experience the tranquillity of the high Himalayas.

Day 12

  • Trek from Lhonak to Kanchenjunga Base Camp (Pang Pema).
  • Walking duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
  • Distance: Around 10 kilometres.
  • We will hike to the north base camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga, which is also known as Pang Pema
  • We will climb gradually following the moraines through the trail and reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp. 
  • The prayer flags around and the mesmerizing towering third-highest mount Kanchenjunga is the reward after multiple days of trekking
  • Return to Lhonak

Day 13

  • Trek from Lhonak to Ghunsa.
  • Walking duration: Approximately 7-8 hours.
  • Distance: About 16 kilometres.
  • Descend through the glacier valleys and moraines.
  • Pass by Khambachen and enjoy views of the surrounding peaks.
  • Arrive back in Ghunsa and relax after a long day of trekking.

Day 14

  • Trek from Ghunsa to Sele La Base Camp.
  • Walking duration: Approximately 6-7 hours.
  • Distance: Around 10 kilometres.
  • Ascend towards the Sele La Pass through alpine meadows.
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
  • Settle in at the base camp for the night, preparing for the pass crossing.

Day 15

  • Cross the Sele La Pass.

  • Descend through rocky terrain and alpine meadows.
  • Arrive in Tseram, a small settlement amidst the rhododendron forest.

  • Arrive in Tortong and rest for the evening.

  • Arrive in Yamphudin and explore the village.

  • Trek from Yamphudin to Khebang.

  • Arrive in Khebang and relax for the evening.

Day 19

  • Trek from Khebang to Khangpachen.

  • Arrive in Khangpachen and celebrate the completion of the trek.

Day 20

  • Trek from Khangpachen to Suketar.
  • Walking duration: Approximately 3-4 hours.
  • Distance: About 10 kilometres.
  • Reach Suketar and take a jeep drive to Bhadrapur.
  • Domestic flight from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu.
  • Transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Reflect on the incredible journey to Kanchenjunga Base Camp.
